Forest Management Plans
What Is A Management Plan?
Every property F&W manages is guided by a Forest Management Plan, the document that turns a landowner’s goals into action on the ground. Plans differ from client to client. Some are broad, covering a single property for one season. Others are detailed multi-decade roadmaps. There’s no one-size-fits-all format, but every plan consists of these elements.
- Landowner Objectives
Every plan starts with objectives, whether that’s maximizing timber revenue, improving wildlife habitat, or something in between. - Current Forest Conditions
We document current conditions, maps, inventory data, and any special features or constraints before planning next steps. - Management Activities
The plan lays out the silviculture, operations, and scheduling needed to meet the landowner’s goals, often organized by stand or forest type. - Monitoring & Next Steps
Every plan includes a path to monitor results, report progress, and adjust course over time.
