Travel
As required, up to 50% within the northeast; primarily day trips.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will be field work consisting of forest inventories, timber, and boundary marking; collecting GPS field data, prescribed burning, logging supervision, planting supervision in addition to other detailed organizational skills with files and paperwork. Periodic travel out of town will be required for inventory work.
Overview
F&W Forestry is an international forest resource management and consulting firm dedicated to helping landowners gain the most value and enjoyment per acre from their forestland. Fountains Land, a division of F&W is an industry leader specializing in land sales. This full-time real estate position puts to work experience gained by the professional who has solid real estate marketing expertise with a forest management background. Position reports to the Chief Business Officer.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Forest Resource Management or related field, plus 5 years of land sales experience with an active real estate license in at least one of the northeastern states. Broker’s license a plus. Forestry related education can alternatively be a combination of education and experience. Motivated and creative self-starter that must work independently with minimal supervision but also works well in a team environment. Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience with proposal writing, budgeting, marketing presentations, and building an order book. Understand the drivers of a timberland investment asset, general cash flows, and issues concerning land ownership. Proficient with GIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with a CRM. Strong attention to detail, organized, and excellent time management skills. Excels at managing and prioritizing multiple deadlines. Ability to flexibly adapt to fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
Duties include, writing and submitting land listing proposals, managing listing projects from beginning to end, interacting with clients and customers, accounting of contract deposits, oversight of listing advertising, writing of property marketing reports, GIS mapping, review and marketing compilation of timber data, research capabilities, attending public meetings, land reconnaissance, drone use/licensing, property photography, and negotiation skills. Responsibilities include oversight of subagents and employees with real estate activities, budgeting, and general business development.
