Whenever land is purchased, accepted by a trust, used as security for a loan, or changes hands in
any other way, most prudent landowners obtain an environmental site assessment (ESA) of the property. ESA's serve to protect landowners from the potentially large cost of cleaning up hazardous
materials dumped on the property by a previous landowner, or by others without the landowner's knowledge.
F&W specializes in environmental site assessments of rural properties.
Drawing on our extensive knowledge of the management of these types of properties, F&W inspects for signs of environmental hazards.
Current and historical aerial photographs of the property
are examined by our foresters for signs and evidence of environmental contamination.
Local, state, and federal databases are searched to see if there are any records of environmental hazards on the particular property or on neighboring parcels.
Based on research, interviews and site visits, F&W prepares a report
alerting the client to any indication or existence of environmental contamination on the property.
